Training Scholarships
2023 Scholarship Application
The 2023 application submission period is April 17 – May 1, 2023. Notifications will be emailed on June 2, 2023.
The Academy has received scholarship funds from Boon Philanthropy which will enable us to assist 3 individuals with the cost of the practicum portion of training:
- Boon National Scholarship is funded by a grant through Boon Philanthropy
Scholarship Criteria: If the following criteria are not met, your application will not be read.
- The recipient will be currently pursuing the practicum component of one of the four levels of OGA training: Orton-Gillingham Classroom Educator level, OGCE/OGA; Associate level, A/OGA; Certified level, C/OGA; Fellow level, F/OGA training.
- The recipient has demonstrated a commitment to OG training and certification through OGA.
- The recipient is expected to complete the practicum and apply to the OGA for certification.
- Priority will be given to applicants working in Title I school districts.
Parameters: Preference will be given to individuals who have not received funding from their school or through other grants and to individuals in the practicum stage of training with the expectation of applying to the Academy within the year.
Scholarship Amount: $750
Application Form Information: Have the following information ready before filling out the online form.
- Fill in the contact information
- Upload CV or Resume
- Upload your photograph
- Fill in the Personal Statement section
- Fill in OGA Fellow and training level information, dates of coursework, and practicum
- Fill in the approximate date of application to OGA
- Choose your application stream
- Upload letter of recommendation from your Fellow
- Upload proof of payment, invoice, or explanation of payment
Application submission period: April 17, 2022 – May 1, 2023 (Applications must be submitted through the online form. PDF applications will not be accepted.)
