The Associate coursework (60 hours) provides the rationale for using the OG Approach with individuals with dyslexia. Components of the course include the brain basis of reading and the essential components of evidence-based reading instruction. It provides a diagnostic-prescriptive approach to assessment, instructional sequences, and lesson planning and delivery for the individual learner. The Part B components include adaptations for classroom instruction. An Associate member is qualified to provide 1:1 and small group instruction under the mentorship of an Academy Fellow (Tier 3).
Practicum Requirements: 100 hours supervised practicum teaching 1-1 with 10 observations
Prerequisite: Bachelor’s Degree and the completion of Classroom Educator Coursework
