This online class consists of 64 hours of coursework conducted live via Zoom. Course topics include: Administration of informal diagnostic assessments, creating OG lesson plans, neurological underpinnings of dyslexia and the needs of dyslexic learners, phonological awareness, sound to symbol relationships, reliable spelling patterns, syllable structure, morphemic statue, diagnostic and prescriptive teaching, research based multisensory, direct and systemic instruction, handwriting instruction, vocabulary instruction, basic comprehension skills, developing individualized lessons and preparing the application to the OGA for certification at the Associate level. All coursework materials are sent electronically.
Upon successful completion of the course, trainees will be eligible to complete their practicum and then apply to the OGA for Associate level certification.
100 hours practicum available online or recorded lessons for an additional cost.
