This online class consists of 30 hours of coursework conducted live via Zoom. This instruction prepares Classroom teachers to use the OG approach in the classroom setting and allows teachers to use direct instruction to bring a multisensory, structured, and linguistic phonics-based approach into the mainstream classroom. The curriculum will include: dyslexia and reading disorders; the rationale of the OG Approach; handwriting; phonological awareness, phonics, syllable division patterns, and spelling; elements of multisensory instruction, diagnostic-prescriptive teaching, and lesson planning; and preparing the application to the OGA for certification at the Classroom Educator membership level. All coursework materials are sent electronically.
Upon successful completion of the course, trainees will be eligible to complete their practicum and then apply to the OGA for Classroom Educator level certification.
50 hours practicum available online or recorded lessons for an additional cost.
