The Bridge Academy, 2025

This 70 hour course is designed for those who want to work with students one-to-one. The course covers the Orton-Gillingham Approach, dyslexia, phonemic awareness, phonology and morphology, assessment, syllable types and division rules, vocabulary, spelling, reading comprehension and fluency, the history of the English language and much more.

The trainee will receive a premade binder full of reference materials, activities to do in class, and materials to use when teaching OG lessons. The trainee will also receive a reference notebook and sound cards. These materials will be mailed and are included in the cost of the course. We also offer a plethora of resources, activities, links, etc. during our training in Google Classroom.

Practicum: In order to get certified by the Academy, the trainee must complete a practicum. The practicum must be completed over a minimum of eight months with one student. The practicum consists of ten observations. Trainees must find their own student to work with. The practicum fee is $2000.
