The focus of this virtual 35-hour course is to introduce the Orton-Gillingham Approach and to show how to provide and adapt literacy instruction for small groups or whole class teaching. This course covers material that a teacher would use for beginning to intermediate level readers.The trainee will receive a premade binder full of reference materials, activities to do in class, and materials to use when teaching OG lessons.

The trainee will also receive a reference notebook and sound cards. These materials will be mailed and are included in the cost of the course. We also offer a plethora of resources, activities, links, etc. during our training.

Practicum Requirement: In order to get certified by the Academy, the trainee must complete a practicum. The practicum must be completed over a minimum of eight months with a small group of students (two or more). The practicum consists of five observations. Trainees must find their own group to work with. The practicum fee is $1000.
